Bogatyr is a Marbled Purple Stripe garlic that came from the Moscow area.
It can be very hot when raw, although not always.
Flavour is excellent and holds up when cooked.
The wrappers on the bulbs have purple stripes with purple marbling. The large, pointy cloves are flat and arranged in a single circle around the scape. The skins are brown to purple coloured and not difficult to peel.
It’s a very good storing garlic — up to 8 months.
