Dan’s Russian belongs to the Porcelain family. We’re not sure of its origins.
This cultivar has medium heat, which starts strong and then fades to a lingering tingle. It has good flavour, fries well, and is delicious roasted.
One of our favourites for roasting and sautéing.
The bulbs can average 4 to 6 pinkish cloves, more often 4 to 5 for us.
It’s a good storing garlic — it will keep up to 7 months if stored properly.
