Kettle River Giant is an Artichoke garlic, originally from Kettle Falls, WA. It is a softneck garlic, meaning it doesn’t produce scapes, but sometimes it will produce bulbils inside the stem at the neck. These bulbils can be planted as seed.
Flavour is very rich and lasting with mild to moderate heat and it is very good roasted.
In our experience it’s not always giant, but when it is — it is. For us, it produces all sizes of bulbs.
Excellent for braiding and the cloves are fairly easy to peel.
Stores for 8 to 10 months.
